The bigger payout didn’t win every category. Here are two real routes I shared:
📦 AMAZON FLEX

- Reported time: 3 hours 30 minutes
- Miles: 86.9
- Gross: $1.15/mile | $28.57/hour
- After estimated fuel: $87.88 remaining
- After-fuel rates: $1.01/mile | $25.11/hour
🛒 SPARK
- Payout: $55.89
- Reported time: 1 hour 52 minutes
- Miles: 39.6
- Gross: $1.41/mile | $29.94/hour
- After estimated fuel: $50.04 remaining
- After-fuel rates: $1.26/mile | $26.81/hour
⛽ Fuel estimates use $3.50/gallon—not a claim about today’s price—and recorded fuel economy of 25.1 MPG for Flex and 23.7 MPG for Spark.
Flex left more TOTAL dollars. Spark left about $1.70 more per reported hour after fuel.
Neither figure is final profit: maintenance, depreciation, insurance and taxes still matter. Include any missing pickup, waiting and drive-back time and miles, too.
Two routes—not proof that one app always pays better. Compare the whole job, not just the payout.
