đź›’đź’° SPARK DRIVERS: THE PAYOUT GETS YOUR ATTENTION. THE OFFER TYPE TELLS YOU WHAT WORK COMES WITH IT.
A shopping trip, a curbside pickup, and a route with several deliveries can show similar payouts—but take very different amounts of time.
HERE’S HOW TO READ THE DIFFERENT OFFERS:
đźš— Delivery / Curbside pickup
Pick up an order and deliver it. Curbside describes the pickup location; some offers require going inside. Include the possible pickup wait when deciding whether the trip works for you.
đź›’ Shopping & Delivery
You shop for the items and deliver the order. Look beyond mileage: finding items, handling substitutions, checking out, and loading all take time.
📦 Dotcom deliveries
These involve general merchandise ordered through Walmart.com. Check the number of stops and where the last delivery leaves you.
🏪 Walmart GoLocal
Pickups from other retailers—not just Walmart. Products can include hardware, auto parts, or flowers.
đź’Š Pharmacy
Prescription pickups from Walmart or Sam’s Club. Review and follow the offer’s delivery requirements.
↩️ Customer returns
Pick up a return from a customer and take it back to a participating Walmart. Include that trip back to the store in your evaluation.
THEN THERE’S HOW THE OFFER REACHES YOU:
⏱️ Round robin / “Just for you”
Sent to you with a timer showing how long you have to accept.
📲 First come, first serve
Shown to multiple available drivers in your zone. It may disappear when another driver accepts it.
🧺 Single vs. batched
A single offer contains one customer order. A batch contains two or more orders within one trip.
⚡ Express
An offer tag to watch for—not another name for every shopping order. Read the timing and instructions on the actual offer.
đź’° MY TAKE: COMPARE THE WHOLE JOB.
Before accepting, consider:
âś… Pay shown and any estimated tip
âś… Miles to pickup, delivery miles, and your next destination
âś… Shopping or pickup waiting time
âś… Number of customers and stops
âś… Heavy items, stairs, and available vehicle space
Hypothetical example: A $25 trip taking 45 minutes works out to about $33.33/hour before expenses. A $35 trip taking 90 minutes works out to $23.33/hour before expenses.
The bigger payout doesn’t always mean a better use of your time.
